Family?: I live alone except for <i>see below</i>.  Mom lives nearby.  Dad, step-mom and half-brother live in town.  Dad's dad is still alive, at 97, and lives maybe 2 hours away.  I have some step-family here in town, an aunt (Dad's sister) a few hundred miles away, another aunt (Mom's sister) in Oregon with my cousin
 

Pets?: Sophie is my friend, a cat that lives with me and tries to take care of me, and I try to take care of her and fret over her a lot

Major in college?: Sociology, English, humanities for undergrad (along with linguistics, Japanese, and some other things I didn't finish); Counseling in graduate school

Current job/career or career goal?: depressed and unfulfilled Academic Counselor at a 4-year public university (my alma) and hater of goals who always wanted to do something creative

Any hobbies/talents?: would love to be in nature more... hiking, riding bike, writing songs, playing guitar, singing, writing in general, video games

Are you still interested in writing? There's always the whole writing as a side thing until you make it the primary thing in your life.

I say that, but I'm the same way. I do my thing, and do creative things on the side.

I gave myself a complex over writing... I am still interested, though. I suppose I'd probably try to push myself to focus on songwriting, were I going to spend the time. I just don't seem to have the energy/will to do anything at all, after working with people all day/week. I wish I could at least do creative things on the side... I'm lucky to fit any music in there at all, but it's always limited, and I haven't done a show in nearly 10 years.
