I am officially an old person now. The music I like best is on Public Broadcasting Service. Are they going to tell me about the pledge drive next, right before a Lawrence Welk marathon?

One thing I'll never understand is why acoustic music always has to be pushed into this slow, quiet, boring box. Come on man. Get out a pick and lay into that guitar once in a while.

I've always loved Rob Thomas and related to the majority of his lyrics (he's an ENFP, unsurprisingly). I still can't sing, but I learned what little singing I can do by listening to him and Chris Cornell primarily (and others, but I can't remember whom). Rob Thomas is one of those singers who actually took lessons (after the first album, he kept losing his voice and needed to learn to sing, and not only did he stop losing his voice, he started to sound fantastic), and he pretty much always sounds just as good in person as in the studio. I used to sing "Disease" (it's at 11:40 in the video) every time I did karaoke, along with Like a Stone (Audioslave) and Otherside (Red Hot Chili Peppers).
