I rode bike to work every day last week, spent lunch walking outside every day. I guess I had sort of hoped something miraculous would happen and I'd have lost weight, but I actually gained it (and I don't think it's muscle). Sucks being old and fat, because you just get older and fatter.

I suppose I shouldn't be surprised. The walking isn't anything new, and I had been working out every day after work anyway, which I no longer do (riding bike up that hill has got to be close to equivalent). Anyway, who has the time/energy for more than that? I'm not going to have another workout after getting home all sweaty and tired.

Alternately, I haven't weighed myself in a long time, workouts had been spotty, and eating had been not the best due to travel and stress and whatever else. It's entirely possible I gained weight, lost it, and ended up back where I was. Maybe if I keep up what I'm doing, my fat cells will shrink.

Eating is tough when it's your main source of comfort, and all the exercise makes me even hungrier. I guess I just need to be more careful. Nobody ever wants to do anything except go out to eat. It makes me fat and poor, and the healthy food I have at home that I meant to eat goes bad.

I feel the same, I always think like, well I'm working out a lot and trying to eat well and it's not working! But actually I guess I'm just not doing it for long enough, or I have a change in lifestyle and go back to eating badly/not doing enough exercise again. I cycle a lot, but then I also eat a lot of bad food alongside all the good food I eat, so I manage to maintain the weight I'm at but don't really manage to go down :( I want to try a lot harder in the summer and maybe go to the gym? I like good food though, sigh. And I like dessert. I also hate when my food at home goes bad and feel a lot better when I spend less out and just make everything from home. It's amazing how much money I can save by basically making the same stuff at home....
