it's like a circus around here

Sophie doesn't even know the half of it!

I opened my garage door this morning to find this poor little kid in here. It must have been locked in all night! It just kind of sat there. I wasn't sure what to do. I wish I'd closed the garage and maybe tried to get it out into the back yard without touching or alarming it. In the end, I left the garage door open, left it alone, and fretted. It could hop and fly a little, but it didn't really try to get away from me. It bounced around a while, freaked me out going into the street, and I think eventually may have found its own kind or figured life out in one way or another. I hope so. There are a ton of robins around, and I think it's a robin. Although it looks really big to be a young robin.

Can you spot the bunny?

Then I went to get the mail, and this bunny came running out. I think she was in the back yard when I last mowed. I think maybe I made her think the back was unsafe, and she ended up behind the rose bush in the front instead. Maybe her babies are under there. I wish she'd stayed in the back! I hope they'll be safe either way.

It is not even rural or natury here. It is very stressful worrying about all the wild beasts in an urban environment. Geese, ducks, deer, cats, dogs, rabbits, birds...!

Oh yeah, and here's me when I was 21.

I have peonies in my yard too. They're all over the places actually, which is fine because they're my favorite. The nice thing about peonies is that they don't require a lot of attention. They're quite content sitting there flowering and being pretty.

Is it a feral? I get a lot of them around here, and I know they say you shouldn't feed them for a number of reasons, but it makes me sad that they're eating out of my garbage can, so I do. I haven't seen Meowlzebub (I don't know why I named them that) or Pope John Paw (same) for awhile though :( There's also a long haired one that's missing an eye who comes to my house to eat. I think that one may actually belong to someone, but part of me hopes that it doesn't because it means they're not taking care of the cat. He or she looks rough.

Same. I did make them a little shelter over the winter, but I'm sure they probably had a place to go already. I made it out of a plastic storage container, and put one of those Styrofoam coolers in there, and put some bedding, straw type stuff between the two to help insulate it.

Me too. The friendly ones always concern me more.
